Launching London’s groundbreaking new railway with the orchestra championing change and celebrating diversity in classical music.
Challenge
How do you capture the essence of ‘Bringing more of London together’ in a sound and recording that is truly London?
And how do you produce it in a way that puts the Elizabeth Line at the beating heart of the recording?
Approach
Chineke! was the perfect orchestra to soundtrack the Elizabeth Line as they embody the very essence of the campaign – to bring the people of London together.
Woolwich Works provided us with the perfect provenance for the recording too - London’s newest multi-disciplinary cultural hub on the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich.
How we did it
We worked with the Chineke! Orchestra to record a bespoke arrangement of the famous waltz ‘Blue Danube’ by Johann Strauss. The Chineke! Orchestra brings together musicians from over 30 different nationalities and has just relocated their rehearsal space to Woolwich Works, a stones throw from the new Elizabeth line station. Their involvement is a fitting tribute to how the brand new service is bringing together more people and places, across London, than ever before.
Throughout the film, many of the incredible customer benefits of the new line are highlighted including step free access, more space and faster journey times. The orchestral track is complementary to the new train line, as the music builds to create a soaring crescendo which is a true celebration of the campaign strapline which is ‘bringing more of London together’.
“ It was thrilling for the Chineke! Orchestra to record the soundtrack for the launch of the new TfL Elizabeth Line. Our message to champion change and celebrate diversity in classical music embodies the incredibly rich cross-section of every culture in London, which this new line will serve. ”
