For TfL’s latest campaign, Act Like a Friend, the answer comes with a heartbeat. A score that holds tension and tenderness in the same breath, composed by Ashraf Hanif. The campaign calls on Londoners to stand up, speak out, and look out for each other when they see hate crime on public transport. It’s not about heroics, it’s about humanity. And the music had to feel that.
The Music
Ashraf’s composition moves like a journey through the city: intimate strings, low pulses, and moments of stillness that pull you in. A soundtrack that reminds you what it means to care, to act, and to be part of something bigger than yourself.
What's Next?
Throughout National Hate Crime Awareness Week, TfL is also holding a series of events to raise awareness of hate crime at Edmonton and Stratford bus stations, Euston and Waterloo rail stations and London Bridge Underground station.
“ This campaign taps into something most Londoners can relate to: wanting to help but not knowing how in the moment. ”
